The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has strengthened its commercial presence in Asia after naming Chinese coffee giant Luckin Coffee as the official regional partner of the Spain men’s national football team in China.
The agreement adds another international brand to the federation’s growing sponsorship portfolio and underscores the increasing importance of China as a strategic market for national football teams seeking new commercial opportunities beyond Europe.
Under the partnership, Luckin Coffee will leverage the popularity of Spain’s national team through localised marketing campaigns, fan engagement initiatives, and promotional activations aimed at Chinese consumers. The collaboration forms part of the RFEF’s broader international growth strategy, which has focused on expanding the reach of Spanish football across key global markets.
For Luckin Coffee, the deal provides access to one of the world’s most successful national teams at a time when the company continues to strengthen its brand presence among younger consumers. Founded in 2017, the technology-driven coffee chain has grown into China’s largest coffee retailer, operating more than 30,000 stores and expanding into international markets including Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States.
The sponsorship also reflects the deepening relationship between Spanish football and China. Earlier this year, the RFEF and LALIGA signed separate memorandums of understanding with the Chinese Football Association, aimed at fostering cooperation in football development, education, and the hosting of international sporting events.
The announcement continues a busy commercial period for the Spanish federation. Last week, luxury fashion house Loewe was unveiled as the official formalwear and travelwear partner of Spain’s men’s and women’s national teams through 2030. In March, telecommunications company Telefónica extended its association with the federation in a sponsorship agreement running until the end of the decade.
With Spain preparing for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and co-hosting the 2030 edition, the RFEF continues to capitalise on the global appeal of La Roja as it builds a diversified international sponsorship portfolio across key consumer markets.
